In September I interviewed Jessica White at Books@Stones about her new memoir Hearing Maud (UWA Press, 2019). This book illustrated the many different ways that deafness can impact a life, both through White’s own experience and that of Maud Praed who was the daughter of novelist Rosa Praed (1851-1935). It was a pleasure to listen to her speaking about and reading from this powerful book.
