Art and politics have always been inextricably linked. Throughout history, so much of the most powerful and enduring art has responded to recent events and injustice. This article examines artworks recently exhibited in Brisbane by Nicholas Mangan, Fiona Foley and Judy Watson, that oppose and push back against institutional forces.
