Fiona Foley’s exhibition, Who are these strangers and where are they going? is a major survey exhibition of her work from the last ten years (since her exhibition Forbidden 2009 was hosted by the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney and the University of Queensland Art Museum, Brisbane). It includes her most recent major series Horror Has A Face (2017) which looks at her Badtjala heritage on K’gari / Fraser Island and the impact of the ill fated Bogimbah mission which operated there from 1897-2004.

In January 2020 the exhibition will be part of the Sydney Festival (opening at the National Art School on January 9). In this catalogue there is new writing about Foley’s work from Djon Mundine and Odette Kelada and an article by me republished courtesy of VAULT magazine.
